Recommend shows to Spotify listeners with Bandsintown
Spotify recently terminated its 13-year partnership with Songkick and instead switched to using Bandsintown for their concerts directory.
Why it matters
Spotify is an excellent tool for getting concerts and festivals recommended to listeners.
Tour dates are mentioned on the artist’s profile page.
The live events feed displays personalised concert recommendations.
Personalised e-mails provide concert recommendations and fan pre-sales.
The live music ecosystem of artist teams, venues, and promotors should maximise this promotion opportunity by listing their events on Spotify.
How it works
Songkick used to be the go-to platform for artists to showcase their upcoming events on Spotify. However, Spotify has now ended its partnership with Songkick and has started collaborating with Bandsintown.
Here’s how to display events on Spotify using Bandsintown.
For artists
Create a Bandsintown for Artists account.
Log in and create or claim an artist’s page.
Find the Spotify Artists Page URL and add this to Bandsintown for Artists under
Profile > Links > Spotify
. Example:https://open.spotify.com/artist/5me0Irg2ANcsgc93uaYrpb
Events will be visible on Spotify within 48 hours.
For venues, festivals, and promotors
Venues should claim their venue page for free in Bandsintown Pro.
Venues, festivals, and promotors can add missing events manually.
Yes, but..
While major ticketing platforms such as Ticketmaster and See Tickets automatically list events on Spotify, manually adding concerts and festivals to Bandsintown helps artists regain control over their event listings.
Take action now
Touring artists should promptly link their Spotify Artists Page URL to Bandsintown for Artists to get their events listed on Spotify.
