Great piece I’ve been trying to finish something the last few days about the reality of music audiences the last few days.. I think this is speaking on the same reality but in a different way.

Excellent edition. Wasn’t aware of the concept of cost disease!

Thanks! I haven't come across this before either. The article by Alex Mayyasi on Derek Thompson's blog is a great read: https://www.derekthompson.org/p/why-cost-disease-is-the-secret-force

This is something I’ve come to accept the more I take music seriously. Going to concerts and festivals in the past few months has shown me that human connectivity and bonding is needed now more than ever — especially now with the rise of AI. It is my belief, that in an equivalent exchange, social acceleration will rise in demand, because people will crave to feel human again.
